Sustainability
We’re passionate about 'creating a more sociable future': helping people come together in real moments, making memories that leave a lasting, positive imprint.
In everything we do, each choice we make, we create sociable moments responsibly, thinking beyond today for our communities, our people and our planet.
Our Approach
We care about creating a more sociable future in a sustainable way. Guided by our values - we're real, we're inclusive and we're responsible - we take our commitments seriously, and we do the right thing.
The guiding principles, goals and commitments of our Sustainability Strategy keep us focused on the lasting imprint we are creating for our people, our communities and our planet.
We know the strategy is just the start. We're all about constant listening, learning and finding ways we can do better.
A strong foundation is key to building our business sustainably. We're growing and supporting our team as we strengthen compliance and governance across our operations, making sure we're doing the right thing by our customers and communities, every single day. Our research, data and insights help us see what's working, and prioritise and adapt our commitments to meet new challenges and opportunities.
The spirit of our approach is collaboration. We do our best work in partnership with our communities and industry partners, and with experts in the areas we want to make sustainable change.
We're always open to feedback and new ideas, and we invite you to be part of it. After all, it's a positive imprint, made together.

Key Policies and Standards
From our vineyards to our bottling facilities, from our retail stores to our hotels and support offices and everywhere in between, our people are creating a more sociable future, in a responsible, inclusive and sustainable way. It's who we are.
Responsibility
We’re focused on doing the right thing by our customers and communities, every single day.
Responsibility is a central part of who we are, what we stand for and the way we bring people together through our brands, products and hotels.

Our responsibility culture
At Endeavour, it’s not just about responsible service. It’s everything we do, every day, to create a positive imprint.
Because responsibility is so important to us, we're creating a culture of responsibility.
We train all 30,000 team members in the principles of responsible service, regardless of their role or where they work in the business. That's because our people are the most important part of our commitment to making sure all our customers enjoy our products and services safely, and in moderation.
Our focus on working in partnership and collaboration and continuous improvement make sure we’re always raising the bar in responsibility.

Leading in Responsibility
Our very own Leading in Responsibility program is embedded in each team member’s induction and onboarding, and covers Endeavour’s commitment to responsible service and gambling. Leading in Responsibility isn’t a legal requirement and goes above and beyond our compliance certifications, helping to drive a culture of responsibility at every level of our business.
Responsible Service
Our frontline team members are trained and certified in Responsible Service of Alcohol and Responsible Service of Gambling in line with State regulations. Training modules assist our team to confidently request and verify proof of age to prevent service to minors, identify and refuse service where required, and record service-related incidents, including refusal. We also maintain compliance with State-based responsible service requirements and regulations relating to responsible promotion, signage requirements and local Liquor Accords.
In addition to state regulations, our Hotels team undertake our industry-leading Responsible Service of Gambling online training module, with topics such as how to recognise potential problem gambling and warning signs, how to interact with players, and how to highlight available support options. Managers also take part in our specially developed Advanced Responsible Service of Gambling face-to-face workshop for practical and in-depth training around customer interactions.
ID25
This point-of-sale initiative supports our team members to screen a wider range of customers for identification to confirm only people over the age of 18 are provided service. Team members are trained to ask for identification prior to point of sale if a customer looks under the age of 25 and service is refused to any customer in school uniform or unable to produce identification.
The ID25 Mystery Shop program checks compliance at all BWS and Dan Murphy’s stores nationally, as well as across our online and delivery businesses. Every BWS store is tested quarterly, and Dan Murphy’s stores are tested twice per quarter.
Responsible drinking training
To support our team, we offer a dedicated Responsible Drinking training program, developed in conjunction with DrinkWise. It helps our people to understand responsible consumption habits and support options available for those experiencing challenges with moderation.
Self exclusion
We're working to make sure it’s clear and easy for our customers to regulate or restrict themselves from our services if they decide to - including Retail stores, Retail websites, Hotels and online delivery services.
Independent review
Our focus on continuous improvement includes a commitment to independent testing and benchmarking our approach to responsible service. Since 2017, we’ve worked closely with an independent not-for-profit, the Responsible Gambling Council of Canada (RGCC), an organisation highly regarded in this specialist area.
Promoting Responsibility
Our role in bringing people together in more enjoyable, more memorable ways includes a commitment to promoting and encouraging personal responsibility.
We’re doing this by offering better choices in our products, getting those products into more places and talking about the principles of moderation.
In our hotels, we work to provide a safe and supportive environment so our customers are empowered to make informed decisions about gambling, and are provided with timely and appropriate assistance and information if they need it. This work is all supported by ongoing training, the latest technology, and commitment to working in partnership with industry, regulators and experts in responsible gambling.
Player Protect
Player Protect is our holistic, long-term commitment to responsible service of gambling (RSG) across our pubs Australia-wide. Player Protect comes from a place of care for our communities, and captures everything we do to promote and facilitate responsible gambling, from our in-venue policies, to the education and training we provide our people, and the support we provide for players with information, education and care programs.

DrinkWise
Driven by our purpose and our commitment to help people enjoy sociable moments responsibly, we're a working partner and funding supporter of DrinkWise – an independent, not-for-profit organisation whose primary focus is to help bring about a healthier and safer drinking culture in Australia. DrinkWise develops and implements a range of national information and education campaigns, as well as providing practical resources to help inform and support the community about responsible alcohol use.
Responsible Marketing
Endeavour is the nation’s largest user of the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code pre-vetting service, and our ongoing compliance ensures we not only meet community expectations when it comes to the promotion of our products, but that we are actively promoting messages of responsible consumption.
ABAC is a voluntary code, ensuring that alcohol advertising does not encourage irresponsible or unsafe consumption, or consumption by persons under 18 years of age, and does not target young people.
Community
Our business is made up of thousands of local stores and hotels, passionate about employing local people, contributing to local economies, and bringing the locals together in communities across the country.
We believe connected, social communities are thriving ones. That’s why we do what we can to be there for each other, and always offer a hand in good times and bad.
We're proud to provide support to long-term partners, as well as contribute to a range of initiatives and charitable organisations through our products, brands, stores and hotels.

In our communities
We're committed to helping create sustainable, positive change in our communities.
In Darwin, our Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is focused on local engagement to better understand issues the community is facing and direct our support and investment into the most effective programs.
Connecting with a range of local experts and community groups, including Traditional Owners, industry peers, health and policy developers, youth organisations, government officials and local police, the CAC investigates and evaluates potential collaborations and partnerships, with a focus on harm minimisation initiatives and positive programs to strengthen culture and resilience in the community.
The CAC is a locally-based panel of community leaders, selected to ensure diverse representation, reflective of the community it represents, and contribute a range of lived experience and professional expertise. Their collective experience spans research, health services, social services, policing and licensing, with the common thread of leadership and advocacy in strengthening and connecting communities.

Reconciliation

Reconciliation is an opportunity to live our purpose of creating a more sociable future together. It’s the positive imprint we want to make, and the better future we want to create, together, for all Australians – in our workplaces, with our customers, with our suppliers, at home with our families and in our communities.
We're at the beginning of our reconciliation journey, committed to ongoing listening and learning, from each other and from First Nations peoples with lived experience. This helps us to channel our energy and support into meaningful, clear and measurable reconciliation goals and actions.
Our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) sets the foundations for improving cultural competency and inclusion across our business and in our communities, and guides us in building trust, respect and relationships with Indigenous communities and organisations.

Our partnership with Jawun
Partnership and community connection is key to our learning, and helps us create impactful change.
Since 2013, our partnership with the Jawun Indigenous Community Program has offered more than 35 team members opportunities to share their skills and experience with, and listen and learn from 20 Indigenous community organisations across Australia.
Jawun is a not-for-profit that connects corporate partners with secondment opportunities in Indigenous organisations to help deliver business and community programs. In 2022, Endeavour Group became a Transform tier partner.
Our Reconciliation artwork:
'Celebration Place'
by Riki Salam (Mualgal/Yalanji/Ngai Tahu)
.png)
We are deeply privileged to have Riki tell a story that is uniquely Endeavour, through a dynamic visual language and the timelessness and omniscience of the Dreaming.
The artwork Riki created for us symbolises both occasion and belonging, time and space, and the process of coming together, as well as the outcome of being one through shared experiences and knowledge.
The concept represents water and knowledge flowing throughout the country. From desert country to stone country, rainforest country. From freshwater to saltwater all water carries knowledge from upstream to downstream. This knowledge is passed down from generation to generation to keep Culture strong.
Born and raised in Cairns on Yidindji land, Riki has connections to Muralag, Kala Lagaw Ya, Meriam Mer, Kuku Yalanji peoples on his father’s side, and the Ngai Tahu people in the South Island of New Zealand on his mother’s side.
Riki is an accomplished artist and graphic designer with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in contemporary Indigenous art, design and communications.
Educated in Cairns and Brisbane, Riki has worked on high profile projects across corporate, government, and not-for-profit sectors in Australia and internationally. Prior to founding We Are 27 Creative, Riki worked as Creative Director in two of Australia’s leading Indigenous design agencies.
Diversity and Inclusion
Our people are the most important part of our business. They are the creators of our products, the minds behind our innovations, and the faces our customers see in our stores, hotels and wineries each day. That’s why it’s so important our teams are well-trained and connected, with each person feeling supported, empowered to be themselves, and engaged in what they do.

Some of the work we're doing:
Proud at Endeavour
Our network of LGBTQ+ and Ally team members work on initiatives to create a supportive environment for team members and customers, their friends and family members who identify as LGBTQ+ or as a supporting Ally of the community.
Welcome Here
More than 579 of our stores are listed as a Welcoming Place under ACON’s Welcome Here project. Our participating stores display the Welcome Here rainbow stickers and charter with prominence, letting the community know that LGBTQ+ diversity is welcomed and celebrated.
Listening to our team
We’re always open to feedback and new ideas. Our team take part in annual Voice of Team surveys to provide feedback on engagement, purpose and sustainability. We also hold regular listening sessions with our people to understand key themes and potential opportunities to promote greater balance in succession planning for future leaders.
Annual remunerations reviews
We perform remuneration reviews each year to make sure our pay practices are aligned across the group. It’s one way we are working to reduce the gender pay gap and achieve equality between team members doing like-for-like roles.
WGEA Employer Statement
At Endeavour Group we are committed to pay all roles equitably and ensuring our pay gap remains within a +/-3% tolerance. In 2024/2025 WGEA reporting year, Endeavour Group continued to maintain Gender Pay Parity within the +/-3% tolerance.

HESTA's 40:40 Vision
We are proud to have pledged our support for industry super fund HESTA’s 40:40 Vision to increase the proportion of women in senior leadership across Australia’s largest listed companies by at least 40% by 2030.

Safety and Wellbeing
The health and safety of our team, customers and community is, and always will be, our first priority. We continue to build our health and safety culture, working on minimising risks and hazards, and providing best care and response support, while always looking for ways we can improve

Reducing our impact on the planet
We only have one planet, and we all play a part in its future.
When we talk about making a positive imprint, this includes a commitment to action, and creating a more sustainable world for future generations.

The future we’re helping to create for generations to come is always front of mind.
We’re continuing to invest in driving efficiencies and innovation as we set the foundations for our Planet strategy: better understanding our footprint to inform the actions we can take to make a difference.
Our purpose keeps us focused on the future we are helping to create, and on doing the right thing, so that future is bright for generations to follow.
Climate Change
We’re building climate resilience through our operations and innovating to reduce our emissions, for the sustainability of our business and the planet we all share.
We take a collaborative approach to climate change: partnering with our suppliers, customers and industry to tackle this shared, important challenge.
We support the Paris Agreement and commit to research, innovation and initiatives that will help reduce our own impact.
We're focused on creating a solid foundation: validating our emissions profile, mapping the current status of our operations against our environmental obligations, mitigating risk to build climate resilience, and strengthening our governance, compliance and reporting.
We are progressively aligning our disclosures against the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

We adopt and maintain sustainable practices in our use of natural resources
We manage our natural resources to protect soils and improve biodiversity as part of our commitment to sustainable viticulture and winemaking.
We're committed to sustainable operations and doing the right thing - for our business, for the communities bringing our products to life, and for the planet we all share.
We're working to develop and improve environmental standards across our wineries and vineyards, benchmarking and reporting against Sustainable Winegrowing Association (SWA) certification. SWA is a national program for grape growers and winemakers to demonstrate and continuously improve sustainability in the vineyard and winery through the environmental, social, and economic aspects of their businesses.
Across the business, we have been working to drive water efficiency and water security for our sites. This includes a system to capture water usage data across all sites, to help us identify efficiencies.
Enhancing Circularity
We continue to innovate towards best-practice packaging, reduce waste and support a circular economy.
We’re working to understand and improve the way we manage waste and make sure our packaging is sourced sustainably, meets customer expectations of quality and durability, and can be recovered, recycled and used again.
Working with suppliers and industry partners, we've been able to find more innovative recyclability and reusability solutions across our own operations, and the industry at large. Examples include Australia's first lightweight 750mL sparkling wine bottle and the lightweight Reverse Taper BVS bottle, both developed in partnership with Australian packaging solutions company, Orora.
We're one of the founding members and deputy chair of the Wine Industry Sustainable Packaging Alliance (WISPA), a collaboration between APCO and key businesses across the wine industry value chain.
We're also working to gain a clearer picture of our waste management across our operations. Our strategy has three key aims: reducing waste generation, enhancing circularity and expanding recycling opportunities, ensuring that the needs of our stores, teams and customers are met.
